We’re in the Spirit World - They Can’t See Us

The main concept of my work explores animism and the mysteries of the interconnectedness between all that makes up our world. Animism, latin for breath, spirit or life is a worldview most indigenous cultures share. It's a belief that everything that exists contains knowledge, and awareness and should be respected. Humans are just one thread in the tapestry of life. Everything that exists is woven together as one organism. We as humans contain entire ecosystems within us - as we live within a an ecosystem outside of us. As above - so below. Within this universe I incorporate flora, fauna and the human form to express this connection we share. In a world that is hurling toward a future rapidly moving away from the natural world - this work is a reminder of what it means to be human and our connection to the source of life and the world beneath our feet.
